What we offer

  • Ballet

Ballet is the core of dance and builds a strong foundation or technique for other styles of dance.  We teach the Russian style of ballet and offer various classes for children through teens, from the introductory to intermediate levels. • Tap

Tap Dancing became popular in America in the 1920s and has two main styles, Broadway/Musical Theater and Jazz. The sounds that tap shoes make when the dancer strikes the floor is a form of percussion, like drumming with the feet. Tap shoes are special shoes with metal plates on the bottoms of the feet under the toes and heel that make many rhythmic sounds to the music. The acoustics of tap dancing sound best on a wooden floor.

This class will introduce students to the art of tap dance and will aid in the development of rhythm and coordination. In each class, participants will warm up with drills using different parts of the tap shoe and will learn tap skills and timing while dancing to the beat of popular music.

  • Hip Hop

Hip-hop is a popular street dance-style, founded by the youth in America in the 1970s. It is thought to have developed in New York City and spread across the country to Los Angeles. East coast or West coast? Both coasts bring the suave style! Today hip-hop is represented nationwide in sports, movies, and pop culture.

Participants will learn precise arm and leg movements to stylized rhythmic music. Group routines execute coordinated movements in a precise yet casual manner while wearing loose fitting clothing and sneakers.

Class will be fun and help prepare dancers for high school and college dance teams.

  • Jazz

Jazz dance is a modern interpretation of movement that pulls from all styles of dance. Each class will begin with stretching, followed by learning skills and tricks, which will be joined together in a fun "combo" or combination of connecting moves to a variety of music styles from pop culture to classics. Dancers in our Jazz classes will stretch, turn, & leap while dancing to the beat with style! Costumes in the jazz category are likely to dazzle the audience with glitter and sequins...and maybe a hat or prop!

  • Acrobatics

Acrobatics, often called "acro" for short, is a mixture of dance and gymnastics. Participants will stretch to promote flexibility and do drills to condition and strengthen the body for acrobatic skills. Participants will work on cushioned gymnastics mats in bare feet and must wear form-fitting athletic clothing with hair neatly pulled back. Instructors will focus on safe technique while teaching the following: splits, forward and backward rolls, bridges, walk-overs, handstands. Advanced classes work on back hand-springs. This class is great for dancers and cheerleaders.

  • Musical theatre

Musical theater dancing is not a particular style but rooted in the diverse history of Broadway musicals.  Some knowledge of ballet, tap, and jazz is helpful. However, musical theater dancers are actors and place a high focus on musical interpretation.

This class will offer a variety of musical styles and dance with a focus on stylized stage presence and fun!

Whether you dance to a Disney song or show tune, give it your all, musical theater-style!

  • Lyrical

Lyrical is strongly influenced by ballet as the dancer uses beautiful extensions in a flowing quality to express oneself to lovely music. Music is typically ballads or songs that bring about an emotional response to the viewer. This form of dance showcases ballet technique with musical interpretation through the use of facial expressions, finger tips, body lines, and pointed toes. Costumes are typically sheer, flowing, and beaded to compliment the music and dancer.

  • Preschool Program

Our Preschool Program is specially designed to provide children between 3 and 4 years of age with a strong foundation in dance and movement. We teach the young dancer the basic elements of movement and dance; space and how to relate to it, both as an individual and as a member of a group; the eight basic locomotor movements; musical rhythm, beat, and time; opposites and directions; and some elementary positions of Ballet and Tap.
